From Combat Engineering to Civil Engineering - we would like to welcome Andrew Buglass to our Exeter office currently on secondment from the British Army.

Andrew is a British Army Captain in the Royal Engineers and has served as a Troop Commander, Operations Officer and Engineer Advisor. He has been deployed to various locations across the globe including the USA, Oman and the Caribbean and has been involved with combat engineering including bridging and explosives.

Every year, a small number of individuals are selected from the Royal Engineers to undertake 2 years in-house technical training to manage, design and deliver infrastructure for Defence. A civil engineering graduate, Andrew has been fortunate to gain this opportunity to complete a master’s degree with the military in his pursuit of Chartership with ICE.

As Temporary Works designers providing a fast turnaround of design projects, similar to the work in the Defence environment, Richter are privileged that Andrew chose ourselves to assist him with his Charteredship. We hope that through his time with Richter, Andrew will gain the experience and valuable lessons from the civilian construction sector to put into practice as a Chartered Military Engineer in the UK and Overseas.

Andrew, it is a great pleasure working with you and once your training is complete we wish you all the very best in your role back in Defence.
