Richter is pleased to announce that Captain Andrew Buglass from the Royal Engineers (RE) has successfully passed his professional review with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and is now a Chartered Engineer (CEng).

Andrew spent seven months with Richter's Exeter team. He secured a placement with the Group as part of the RE Professional Engineer Training scheme. Every year, a small number of individuals from the RE are selected to undertake technical training to assess, design and deliver infrastructure to support Defence operations. The main outcome of the technical training is to achieve CEng status with a professional engineering institution.

Andrew selected Richter to assist him in gaining experience for his Professional Review. When asked why he chose Richter, Andrew said, “As temporary works designers, Richter has the same vision and approach that military engineers require to deliver infrastructure on operations. This includes optimising designs, innovating and promoting sustainability through engineering”.

Andrew is now back in the Royal Engineers, supporting infrastructure for Defence operations. Reflecting on his time with Richter, Andrew told us, “The entire team were instrumental in providing opportunities to develop my ability as a Chartered Civil Engineer. The support that Richter offer for professional registration is second-to-none and is definitely a model for success. I just want to take the opportunity to thank the entire team for their support and wish them the best in the future”.

From everyone at Richter, many congratulations Andrew!
