It gives us great pleasure to share the news that Mark Davies, Richter Director, has received Fellowship status from the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

Over the years, Mark has developed remarkable solutions to engineering problems, particularly in the specialised area of temporary works. His geotechnical expertise in construction and design is top level. He is responsible for getting countless people chartered status. He is also the author of the TWf publication - Working Platform for Tracked Plant, in addition, he has co-authored countless other publications.

Mark joined Richter as a director in January 2021. When we asked him about his achievement he expressed how; “Having started out as a setting out engineer, working my way up to project manager and gaining my chartership felt like, and was, a huge milestone that I was immensely proud to have achieved. But, as I would tell anyone, there is always more to learn, more to strive for and this is what has maintained my desire to achieve more and to ultimately give more back. I am therefore both delighted and humbled to be recognised by my peers as a Fellow of the ICE. I must however say that I feel very lucky to have had the opportunities that I have had over the years and can only express my gratitude to the great many people that have helped me along the way, not least my colleagues here at Richter. I can only hope that, in turn, I am able to help others to progress in the same way and, above all, inspire them to not limit their ambitions and continuously aim for the very highest level of achievement.”

Roger Tice, Richter Group managing director has worked closely with Mark for a number of years now - both directly and indirectly and said “Working with mark has always been a pleasure. This is a totally deserved accolade and demonstrates Marks commitment to the civil engineering industry. I would urge anyone who has the opportunity to work with Mark on an engineering project to do so. You will certainty learn from his ability to break complex matters down into bite sized simplified elements. He has certainty helped me in the past and no doubt will be on hand to ensure our teams deliver safe and efficient design solutions, time and time again.”

Congratulations on this incredible achievement from everyone at Richter.
