Richter is proud to announce that we have achieved recertification of ISO 19650 BIM, demonstrating our commitment to excellence in Building Information Modelling (BIM).

Achieving recertification of ISO 19650 BIM is a significant accomplishment for Richter by working with BSI and achieving ISO 19650 certification, Richter has demonstrated a clear understanding of BIM requirements in the industry, enabling clear and effective collaboration with our clients and across the whole supply chain.

BIM is a process for creating and managing information for the design, construction, and management of buildings and infrastructure that offers significant benefits in terms of cost savings, quality improvements, and project efficiency. ISO 19650 is the international standard for BIM, providing a framework for best practices and information management throughout the BIM process.

In addition to the certification, we have committed resource to provide training and support to all staff engaged in BIM outputs, embedding competency and capabilities, all supported using effective BIM tools, technology, and infrastructure. This training allows us to have clearly defined BIM roles within our project teams, with an understanding of our responsibilities as part of an information delivery plan.

This recertification is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our Digital team, who have worked tirelessly to implement and maintain the highest standards in BIM practices. When we spoke to Paul McLaughlin, the Group Digital Manager, about the Recertification he said, “The accreditation is an integral part of our approach to adding value to our engineering projects, providing a process for all our engineers and technicians to manage information effectively, whilst delivering 3D models and visualisations prior to works on site, providing confidence in complicated designs.”

The UK BIM Framework suite of documents states that BIM is “getting benefit through better specification and delivery of just the right amount of information concerning the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of buildings and infrastructure, using appropriate technologies.” And we are so proud of the team to yet again be able to say that we meet these criteria and hope that we can improve even more as we continue working and innovating our techniques and works.
