Cancer is affecting more and more people everyday, but thanks to research, national campaigns and fundraising, Cancer Research's pioneering work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer has helped save millions of lives. Over the past 40 years survival has doubled, thanks to the great progress research has made.

Lucy Jones, a member of Richter's Corporate Services team took on the 'Walk All Over Cancer' challenge, which was to walk 10,000 steps everyday of March. Lucy not only successfully completed the challenge, she smashed her step count with a whopping 449,935 steps and raised £155. Great work, well done Lucy.

When we asked Lucy why she wanted to take part in the challenge, she told us how she and her family have been affected on more than one occasion by cancer, "Cancer affects so many people and so many lives, so I wanted to do something to help with the fight against cancer and this was a great opportunity to do so".

Cancer Research has a strategy to beat cancer. It's vision is to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured through four key areas of focus - prevention, early diagnostics, development of new treatments and optimisation of treatments.

If you would like to support Lucy and the cause, it's not too late. Click here to go to her Just Giving page and make a donation. Thank you.

Together, we will beat cancer.
